Organized by the Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association and sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the 'Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Grant: Mei Ho House Hong Kong Spirit Learning Programme' @yhalearning introduces a brand new parent-child co-learning element this year with the 'Mei Ho House Family Fun Day 2026'. With the theme 'Back to the days of 'Gratitude for Poverty'', the event invites participants to step into the lives of grassroots families in the past.

Despite the scarcity of resources back then, the older generation demonstrated their wisdom, creativity, and mutual support, making the most of limited resources to create a better life for their families. In difficult times, family members supported and understood each other, and children learned to cherish, be thrifty, and be grateful in their daily lives. These seemingly ordinary moments showcase the resilience and strength of Hong Kong families in the face of adversity.

This Mid-Autumn Festival weekend, let's go back to 1950s Hong Kong and, through a series of interactive experiences, personally feel the challenges faced by families back then. Discover the warmth of a family working together and appreciate the life wisdom and 'Hong Kong Spirit' of the older generation.
